Customer Experience: See your service as the customer do
As many telcos will privately admit, a full array of green lights in their network
operations centre does not always mean full customer satisfaction. VanillaPlus’s
editor, Jeremy Cowan has found that some software vendors are tackling this by
digging deep into the operators’ network data to identify customer experience
management (CEM) problems and solutions.

Customers, pesky customers
The telecoms industry still has something of an ambivalent attitude to its customers, writes Alun Lewis.

King Customer
Customer Experience Management (CEM) is a crucial process for mobile network operators and communication service providers in general. It places the customer at the centre of a converging communications environment, finally recognising that it is the end-users' response to their experience of the network and its services that will ultimately drive the success or failure of any network brand. James Doyle discusses the emergence of CEM as a crucial application, and why it is now an essential complementary part of CRM/BSS/OSS processes.

CRM meets CEM
In the mobile communications industry's continuing attempts to refine assessment of end user needs and respond to them, the number of vendor offerings to help operators to understand the customer just goes on growing. However, is the profusion of terms in the CRM space getting us any nearer to successfully serving the end user?
Take for instance 'customer experience'. Is this just a buzzphrase? Not according to Brendan McDonagh, the CEO of Arantech. Then again, providing customer experience management (CEM) systems to communications service providers is a central part of his company's offering. But what does it mean? And what difference is there between CEM and, say, QoS?
