Before forming Arantech, Brendan worked in
Ericsson, having joined them in 1995, and until the end of 1999 was the
General Manager of Ericsson's Radio Network Solutions Centre, a design
organisation of 400 engineers working in management and control of the
worlds leading communications standards like GSM and W-CDMA. Brendan
also had business responsibility within Ericsson for Radio Network
Applications for the US and South American markets. Prior to this
Brendan installed a mobile network in Vietnam and worked in GEC Plessey
Telecommunications in Australia for 5 years as a design manager.
Brendan is the named inventor in several international patents and has
seen his ideas successfully implemented in products. Brendan has a
Masters degree in Computer Systems and Bachelors degree in Electronics.
Before joining Arantech in December 2005, Ian spent 25 years in various
sales roles. His career started at ICL, a large UK-based IT Company,
and for 14 years he worked as an Account Manager in the defence,
commercial and manufacturing sectors. He then joined Informix Software
(UK), a medium sized Database Software firm, and for 7 years was Sales
Manager for Telecommunications and Media. In 1999, Ian approached
TimesTen, a Silicon Valley based technology start up specializing in
high performance data management systems, and was recruited as Director
of EMEA operations to build the business from scratch. After 7 years of
outstanding success, Oracle Corporation bought TimesTen and Ian became
a VP Sales at Oracle. After successfully integrating TimesTen EMEA into
Oracle, Ian decided to join Arantech.
Prior to joining Arantech, Cathal was the CEO of Performix
Technologies, an international technology company delivering business
performance improvement solutions to the CRM market. He led Performix
to great success in Europe and the USA with a client list that included
Chase Manhattan, AOL, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Verizon Wireless,
AT&T, Eircom, BT and Cooperative Bank. Cathal relocated to the
USA in 2000 to direct the company's day to day US operations and the US
launch of Performix' business performance management solutions. Prior
to Performix, he held a number of senior management roles with Cap
Gemini and Siemens AG. Cathal holds a first class honours Bachelor's
degree in Engineering and an MBA from the Michael Smurfit Graduate
School of Business, University College Dublin, Ireland.
Tom co-founded Arantech, bringing deep business
development and technical experience to the firm. Prior to Arantech,
Tom was the director of his own design and construction company in
Australia. This company had a turnover of approximately two million
pounds and continues to be managed by his business partner. Prior to
this role, Tom worked in management roles for Kodak and Costain. Tom
has an Honours Degree in Engineering, graduating from the University of
Limerick in 1986.
James has gained a wealth of experience over the last 20 years whilst
holding a number of key roles within the mobile sector, specifically
within high growth technology start-ups. His early career was spent in
Nortel and Olivetti in the UK and Italy, before he joined the Dublin
based start-up Aldiscon in 1993, where he was responsible for Product
Management and Marketing. After its successful sale in 1997 to Logica
he left Aldiscon to become the founder and CEO of AerSoft, a technology
company specializing in wireless messaging products. Aersoft
successfully merged with the imagine group in 2003 from where it
continues to support its product and customer base. After AerSoft James
worked as an independent consultant for a number of high growth
start-up companies including Red Circle, Accuris, and Anam, before
joining Arantech in 2006.
Brian has 15 years telecommunications and software development
experience across both service and product-orientated organisations.
Prior to joining Arantech Brian was a co-founder of Attorn, a limited
company that specialised in IP Surveillance and Interception. Before
Attorn Brian held a senior management position in Accuris (a Telecoms
OSS and network solutions company), where he was the Operation Director
responsible for a group of 90 staff. He had responsibility for Product
Management, Engineering, Test and Customer Services. Brian has also
held the positions of R&D manager, Business Unit Manager and
Engineering Manager. As part of his remit in Accuris Brian secured and
programme-managed a countrywide €12M Interception network
solution for a Tier 1 network operator in Holland. Prior to Accuris
Brian worked for Telecom Ireland Software in the position of Project
Manager, responsible for the SDH Modelling Product with a team of 30.
Brian originally started work for AT&T Laboratories where he
worked in both the hardware design and embedded software design groups
for subscriber access products including MAR (Multiple Access Radio)
and PON (Passive Optical Networks). Brian holds a Hardware Engineering
Diploma, and a 1st Class Honours Degree in Computer Science.
Prior to joining Arantech John was CTO and co-founder of a technology
company engaged in development of a platform for distributing Content
and Advertising to mobile devices over Bluetooth. Previously, John had
a career spanning 29 years in senior management roles with Ericsson and
Cable & Wireless, responsible for the setup and management of
globally dispersed Development-Delivery-Support organizations, and
spent several years as a member of the R&D management team of
Ericsson Ireland and Ericsson Germany. John has a Bachelors degree in
IT from Dublin City University.
